Sandur Polytechnic organized inter-polytechnic technical competitions meet "SANTECH MANTRA" involving neighbouring polytechnics in Bellary and Davanagere districts on Saturday 20th Sept 2014.
The program started with invocation, welcome of the guests, invitees and lighting the lamp as a mark of respect to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Sir M Visvesvaraya, one a great Teacher and the other an excellent Engineer. It was a combined celebration of Teachers' Day and Engineers' Day.
The Chief Guest of the function was our alumnus Dr. H Priyadarshan, Assistant Professor, Department of Avionics, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Government of India, Thiruvananthapuram. Mr. T. M. Aleem Ahmed, Principal, Sandur Polytechnic, presided over the function. Mr. S. N. Nararayanswamy, Sr. Lecturer in Mechanical dept. read the key note address about the Santech Mantra.
Department-wise events and paper presentations on various current topics were conducted to encourage healthy competitive spirit among the students.
The workshop called papers on various topics like: Bacterial Concrete, Shear wall, Big Data, Linux on mobiles, 4G-Technology, Cyborgs, Wireless Power Transmission using Solar Power satellite, Reactive Power Management, Bio-Fuel, JET-Propulsion system of Rockets, and Practical events involved 2D CAD drawing, Debugging of C-Programming, VHDL Programming & Simulations, Assembly drawing of Electrical machines in AutoCAD 2005.
Apart from Sandur Polytechnic, students from HSK Polytechnic, Sanjay Gandhi Polytechnic, Bellary, Sir M V Polytechnic, Hospet, SES Polytechnic, Siruguppa, S.T.J Polytechnic, Harapanahalli, and Govt Polytechnic Kudligi took part in the competitions and were highly enthusiastic in exhibiting their innate talents.
The Chief Guest Dr. Priyadarshan H made the program more meaningful by giving a presentation on "Satellite Subsystems". While expressing his happiness for being part of this celebration, he advised the students to work hard and utilize the facilities in the Polytechnic to the best possible extent and be successful in achieving the goal in life.
The president of the function Sri T.M. Aleem Ahmed, Principal, Sandur polytechnic addressed the students on importance of ethics and hard work in becoming good Engineers as well as useful citizens of the country. He also advised the students to be passionate about their work.
The Programme "SAN-TECHMANTRA – 2014" concluded with Bhavageete, distribution
of prizes, vote of thanks followed by National Anthem.
