A brief report on SANTECH MANTRA (2011)

On Thursday the 15 Sept 2011, Sandur Polytechnic organized the program “SANTECH MANTRA” an inter-polytechnic technical competitions meet for the neighbouring polytechnics in Bellary and Davanagere district.

The program started with invocation, welcome and speeches by the Chief guest and principal. Mr. S.N. Nararayanswamy Sr. Lecturer in Mechanical dept., briefed about “SAN-TECH MANTRA”.

A special lecture on “Success mantra” was delivered by the Manager HRD Shivapur Shikshana Samiti, Smt. Sudha Srinivasan which highlighted the importance of Positive attitude by adopting the “ABCD” (Attitude, Belief, Consistency and Dedication) principle for achieving success.

The workshop called papers on various topics like Iron & steel making, Industrial Automation, High speed design in VLSI Tech, E-Waste management, Scope of open source, Insight of net frame work, Recent techniques of power generation and transmission, Power and control techniques, Cost effective Techniques in building construction and Deterioration of concrete in marine structure. The program also included events on Surveying, 2D-Drawing creation in CADD, Logic design using PLC, Code developing in C or C++ and Trouble Shooting of Electrical Appliances.

Apart from Sandur Polytechnic, students from V.V.S. Polytechnic, Sanjay Gandhi Polytechnic, Bellary, T.M.A.E’s Polytechnic, Sir. M. Visvesvaraya Polytechnic, Hospet, SES Polytechnic, Siruguppa and S.T.J Polytechnic, Harapanahalli, took part in the competitions and were highly enthusiastic in exhibiting their innate talents.

The Chief Guest of the function Mr. A. G. Suresh, General Manager, SMIORE, advised the students to work towards strengthening the basics with in-depth knowledge in their subjects. He also highlighted the importance of participation in such competitions and being innovative to be successful in life.

The programme “SAN-TECHMANTRA – 2011” concluded with cultural activities like dance and a skit called “Suspension” enacted by the students to highlight the importance of education. The winners were given prices by the chief guest and the function ended with a vote of thanks.
