"A brief report on SANTECH MANTRA - 2015"
 


SANTECH MANTRA - 2015

The sixth edition of "SANTECH MANTRA" an inter-polytechnic technical competitions meet, involving neighbouring polytechnics in Ballari and Davanagere districts was organized by Sandur Polytechnic on Saturday, 19th Sept 2015.

It was a combined celebration of Teachers' Day and Engineers' Day. The program started with an invocation, welcome speech and then the lamp was lit as a mark of respect to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Sir M Visvesvaraya, one a great Teacher and the other an excellent Engineer.

The Chief Guest of the function was Sri. S T Bhairappanavar, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic, Gajendragad and Sri. T. M. Aleem Ahmed, Principal, Sandur Polytechnic, presided over the function.

Department-wise events and paper presentations were conducted on topics relevant to current trends in Industries. These activities were designed to help students learn to maintain healthy competitive spirit and enhance their employability.

The topics like, Innovative application of post tensioning in restoration of RC structure, Papercrete , Modern Trends in Virtual Computing , Modular Smartphone , Graphene Solid State devices, OFDM wireless communication, LED Lighting for energy efficiency, Foot step power Generation, Mechanization in Agriculture, Missiles, Rockets and Jet propulsion System were dealt with, while the Practical events involved 2D drawing using AutoCAD, Debugging of C-Programming , Micro controller 8051 C- Programming using Keil , Assembly drawings of electrical machines in Auto-CAED-2007, 3D - Assembly modelling using CATIA.

Apart from Sandur Polytechnic, students from HSK Polytechnic, Sanjay Gandhi Polytechnic, Ballari, Sir M V Polytechnic, Hosapete, Govt Polytechnic Kampli, SES Polytechnic, Siruguppa, S.T.J Polytechnic & Govt. Polytechnic, Harapanahalli, S R I Polytechnic, H B Halli and Govt Polytechnic, Kudligi took part in the competitions and were highly enthusiastic in exhibiting their innate talents.

The Chief Guest Shri. Bhairappanavar addressed the gathering and expressed the importance of technical education in rural areas. He took pride in being a part of this celebration in an institution located in a rural area and catering quality technical education to the mediocre people which he felt is highly significant. He advised the students to work hard and utilize the facilities in the Polytechnic to the best possible extent and be successful in achieving the goal in life.

On feedback session, Students from other polytechnic expressed happiness and their gratitude to the principal and the institution for having arranged the competition. They appealed the principal to continue organising such events every year to help students get exposure to the latest development s in technical field.

The special guest for the valedictory function was Shri. Mahantesh, Selection grade lecturer, SES Polytechnic; Siruguppa, who expressed his happiness for being part of this function. The president of the function, Shri. T. M. Aleem Ahmed, spoke on the importance of positive attitude, confidence and communication skills. He advised the students to focus on effective communication for a successful career.

The Programme "SAN-TECHMANTRA – 2015" concluded with Bhavageete, distribution of prizes, vote of thanks followed by National Anthem.
