Mr. T. M. Aleem Ahmed has been serving Sandur Polytechnic as the Principal, since 1st December 2007. As the Principal, he oversees 5 departments with around 80 staff and 700 students. He has in total 33+ years of experience in Sandur Polytechnic.

He joined Sandur Polytechnic in 1989 as a lecturer in the Electronics and Communication Engg. department and served as the HOD in E&CE and CS&E departments from 1999 to 2007.

A graduate in Electronics & Communication Engg. from Adi Chunchanagiri Institute of Technology, Chikkamagalur, he has completed Master of Engineering in Electronics from University Visvesvaraya College of Engg., Bangalore.

He has a dedicated team of efficient faculty which is the motivation behind his perseverance to make the polytechnic as one of the best in the state and fulfill the dream of Late Shri M. Y. Ghorpade of giving quality education to the rural masses. His undiminishing love for teaching and care for students has been the key factor behind the successful career at polytechnic.

Inspired by Late Shri M. Y. Ghorpade's drive for enhancement of spoken English at SRS, he has been instrumental in introducing English language and communication skills (ELCS) program in the polytechnic to enable students to communicate freely and correctly.

He received the "Smt. Mahalakshmi Award For Excellence In Teaching" in the year 2002 for his passion for teaching. Apart from motivational and personality development classes, he is regularly involved in student counseling and career guidance.
